Brotherhood Ceremony, April 14th (at camporee)
Has it been a while since you went through your OA ordeal? You may be eligible to attend your brotherhood ceremony. We would like all to take their brotherhood as soon as possible. You are eligible for the Brotherhood Ceremony on Saturday, April 14th in the morning and another one in the afternoon if you completed your Ordeal May 2011 or before. This ceremony is right there at camporee at Myers' Park.
Cost is $15 for the Brotherhood Sash. (Plus $15 if their OA dues have not been paid for 2012) Sign up online right here. |
Chapter Elections in October
Chapter elections - We are preparing to elect new Chapter officers in October, and we need representatives from as many troops as possible. It is our sincere hope to expand the active Chapter leadership from more than just a few troops. Please encourage your Arrowmen to come to the September and October meetings in order to learn what is involved and what role they want to fill. Here are some general descriptions of the seven positions that must be filled: Chapter chief: You are the face of the Chapter. Your enthusiasm and cheerful spirit will encourage others to a life of cheerful service. You also lead the chapter meetings, and assist your chiefs in fulfilling their roles. People will be looking up to you, so it is your responsibility to keep the Chapter running. The Chapter needs to be your scouting priority for this year. You do not need to put your Scouting advancement on hold. We have had several Chiefs earn their Eagle Rank while serving the Chapter. Communication with your adviser is key to success. If you have not attended NYLT, it is strongly encouraged for you to do so. The leadership skills you learn there will make your job easier. Vice Chief of Inductions: You are the Guide of the Chapter. Your enthusiasm and cheerful spirit will encourage others to a life of cheerful service. You are responsible for inducting new members and keeping members active by helping them reach the brotherhood 10 months after their Ordeal. The Chapter needs to be your scouting priority for this year. You do not need to put your Scouting advancement on hold. We have had several Chiefs earn their Eagle Rank while serving the Chapter. Communication with your adviser and the other Chiefs is key to your success. If you have not attended NYLT, it is strongly encouraged for you to do so. The leadership skills you learn there will make your job easier. Vice Chief of Service: You are the face of cheerful service for the Chapter. You provide service opportunities to the chapter and reinforce the OA ideal of "The Brotherhood of Cheerful Service". You must tech all the members that we don't work for the fun of it, we work to teach you how to be selfless, a life quality not gained in many other places.Your enthusiasm and cheerful spirit will encourage others to a life of cheerful service. If you have not attended NYLT, it is strongly encouraged for you to do so. The leadership skills you learn there will make your job easier. Vice Chief of Native American: You are the face of the Native American culture for the Chapter. You are responsible for keeping members interested in the native american culture that is the foundation of our organization, and participating in Pow Wows and Fellowship camps. Your enthusiasm and cheerful spirit will encourage others to continue their scouting careers. The Chapter needs to be your scouting priority for this year. You do not need to put your Scouting advancement on hold. We have had several Chiefs earn their Eagle Rank while serving the Chapter. Communication with your adviser is key to your success. If you have not attended NYLT, it is strongly encouraged for you to do so. The leadership skills you learn there will make your job easier. Vice Chief of Camp promotion: You are the face of camping for the Chapter. It is your responsibility to lead a camping team to aid those troops who do not have a large supply of older knowledgeable scouts to teach them scouting basics. You support camping and the local summer camps, and make sure that there are camping opportunities available to everybody. You do not need to put your Scouting advancement on hold. We have had several Chiefs earn their Eagle Rank while serving the Chapter. If you have not attended NYLT, it is strongly encouraged for you to do so. The leadership skills you learn there will make your job easier. Vice Chief of Administration: You are the face of membership for the Chapter. Your enthusiasm and cheerful spirit will encourage others to continue their scouting careers. The Chapter needs to be your scouting priority for this year. You do not need to put your Scouting advancement on hold. We have had several Chiefs earn their Eagle Rank while serving the Chapter. Communication with your adviser is key to your success. If you have not attended NYLT, it is strongly encouraged for you to do so. The leadership skills you learn there will make your job easier. Vice Chief of Communication and Technology: You are the source of information for the Chapter. You have to keep everybody informed via E-Mail, text, calender, or however you choose. You are responsible for keeping communications going in the chapter, and updating the website and calender. Your enthusiasm and cheerful spirit will encourage others to stay active in the OA. The Chapter needs to be your scouting priority for this year. You do not need to put your Scouting advancement on hold. We have had several Chiefs earn their Eagle Rank while serving the Chapter. Communication with your adviser is key to your success. If you have not attended NYLT, it is strongly encouraged for you to do so. The leadership skills you learn there will make your job easier. This is a perfect opportunity for the Adult members of our chapter to help make sure all the willing Arrowmen have transportation to the meeting.
